The centrifuge is a two-phase continuous decanter designed for the separation of solids suspended in liquids, particularly in blood and tallow processing applications. The system consists of a horizontally mounted hollow bowl that rotates at high speed, combined with an internal helical conveyor that rotates at a slightly slower speed through an epicyclic speed reducer.

Liquid is introduced into the rotating bowl through a fixed feed tube, where centrifugal force causes the solids to move outward and compact against the inner wall of the bowl. The helical conveyor continuously transports the compacted solids along the bowl for discharge, while clarified liquid flows through adjustable ports located in the end plate.

The port settings can be adjusted to control the liquid level within the bowl, allowing operators to optimise the balance between maximum solids dryness and effective liquid clarification. This continuous separation process ensures efficient operation and reliable performance in demanding processing environments.
