Project Summary

Housed on a greenfield site, in a purpose built building, Keith designed, manufactured and installed a Complete Continuous High Temperature Protein Recovery Facility, capable of processing up to 12,800kg/hr of mixed species material and coagulated blood. The plant has a high level of focus on maintenance access and operator movement and incorporates the latest design upgrades, controls and automation, minimising operator input and manual handling.

Being a service renderer, with no way of separating the wool product, a Batch Steriliser is located at the end of the process to pressurise and break down the wool. With this process, they’re able to recover what is often lost yield, increase protein levels in the meal, and also provide a facility for all product to be pressure, temperature, time cooked, opening access markets to the EU.

Raw blood processed at the facility is dewatered through a Coagulator and Decanter. The product is then meter control fed back in with the Raw Material increasing protein levels and the value of the end product, without affecting quality.
