Blow Tanks

For the pneumatic conveying of raw materials

With the raw material being conveyed into the cooker from the blow tank through piping, cleanliness and sanitation are maintained and expensive clean-up procedures are avoided.

The Keith Blow Tank System was designed and developed to provide the lowest cost transportation of raw materials with improved working conditions and sanitation in rendering plants and similar installations.

Air is used for blowing. The pressure required for blowing is determined by pipe friction, bends, elevation, etc. The average installation requires approximately 500 to 700 KPA.

Blow Tanks can also act as additional storage, allowing operators to hold material in the Blow Tank when cookers, or holding bins are full.

Current Keith Installations have blow lines in excess of 100 metres in length in operation, where the blow tank is two and three floors below the delivery area. The time required for blowing a 4500kg load 60 metres is less than two minutes.

Blow tanks are available in a range of sizes, to suit customer specific requirements. For more information please contact Keith.
